Green Office Tips

In the summer issue of Saskatoon HOME, there was an article titled
"7 Timely Tips for a Green Home Office." But why stop there! Here are some other ideas on how to improve your work space in a green friendly way.

1) Cherish Your Water - While the residents of Saskatoon are lucky to have a plethora of water at our disposal, it is still a precious resource that shouldn't be wasted. If you have extra drinking water from your water bottle, or left over after a meeting, use it to water a plant.

2) Reuse Your Paper Fibers - Did you know that paper fibers can be used a number of times before they wear out? Buying paper with recycled content is a great way to get the most of these fibers, allowing more trees to live a happy, healthy life.

3) Toner Tampering - For documents that are for your eyes only, save some toner by turning down the contrast when possible.

4) Fool Proof - Use your "Print Preview" before printing a document. You may be surprised how many typos you can catch without printing it first.

5) Sleepy Time - The intention of the screensaver on your computer is to protect your screen, not save energy. When not in use, use the sleep mode.
